found this guy on mu overflow when I got home ad am wondering if I should pull him out or not??? it's about the size of a dime

I would pull him out they can become a nuisance

Astrea Starfish. Seems the pure white ones are harmless algae grazers. This includes Coralline algae. This has been my personal experience with them. Have many in my tank :)
