Found this in my tank after i put a new bit of rock in.Thought it was a piece of my green star polyp at 1st flosting round until i saw it moving slowly across the rock.
Is it some sort of Anemone maybe. Also good or bad?

I would remove that. It's probably a predatory nudibranch.

I was thinking a nudi at first as had them before but its definitely not 1 of those. Its got a base similar to a leather or toadstool etc

You saw it move as you were looking at it? Reach in there and pluck it out. It's not a coral, let's see what it is....

Yeah I was watching it for a little while, it moves at a really slow pace.
When I saw it floating around yesterday I tried to put on a piece of rock & the front part that you see in the picture kept sticking to my finger which I thought was odd as presumed the base would stick to me if anything.
Ill find it when I get home from work tomorrow & pick it up, see if I can get some better pictures of it.

Nudibranchs "float".
I took a small video of it earlier which is better as you can see the rounded base & the main disc starting to open slightly.
Is there a way to upload the video on here?

Yeah its attached itself to the rock & settled there.I transferred some live rock from my previous tank (upgraded to a bigger 1)
Also put in some Carib Sea Life Rock, then bought 2 bits of fully cured live rock & 1 piece of reef rock.Only been do salt tanks for about 5 years so lots to learn still but never seen anything like this

I'm still suggesting a hairy mushroom. Google some pictures and let us know.

Could be on to something here Cheryl.
Yeah could be. Just googled them after you suggested it, found something it looks very similar to although slightly different colouration & the thing in my tank is a lot smaller. Its proboably only about 1cm
