I added a power head in the skimmer section of the sump to stir up detritus. I added a carbon bag and I think it starved my chaeto. So I ended up removing it. But everything and fish are doing fine. Going to hold off a bit on adding more corals and fish. Anyways I’m done as far as equipment goes. I think lol.

disaster hit today. Came home from work and my return pump was off. Cause the skimmer to overflow over and over into the sump. Decided to an auto aqua sensor for skimmer. Hopefully I can figure out why my return pump stop working

Ended up going with autoaqua skimmer security. Tested and worked like champ twice!!! Hopefully no more overflowing issue when the pump shuts off. Also the aquamaxx skimmer have finally broke in and is a lot more quiet. Then I tackle the dreaded cords. Still looks like a mess but at least all the controller and power supply.

Following along! I have the same tank and some of the equipment. Loving the form factor of the tank.

You're already ahead of me with the fish and coral. I've been taking it slow. Only have a couple of clowns, a flasher wrasse and royal gramma. No corals yet. I've setup a small QT tank for the coral. Glad that I did, I have already killed some aptasia on a frag in the QT.

I see you have a ecotech wave and a few of something else. AI’s? How’s the flow? I’ve had a single MP40 on mine and just got another to add to the opp side for the back instead of doh middle only. Just waiting on the guard to come bevor installing due to little exploring arms. Ok big now. But it’s the only guard I see that has smallest holes. Will have to experiment for waves from same side or opposites to create a vortex etc…but my thought is vortex flow.

nice setup, how are you liking the Fiji sump? I ended up building a mesh net for the chaeto to keep in the Refugium compartment. Are the blades worth it?

I have a MP40 with an anemone guard running at 18% and AI Nero 5. I bought used Nero and the cord rip and didn’t want to spend that kind of money for MP40. Running reef mode on both. Flow is nice would like to add gyre but not needing it at the moment.

So far so good with the sump. I just have rubble in the refugium section for now. I'll eventual add chaeto. I like the blades. I have them resting on the tank for a clean look and no light spillage. I'll see how corals grow with them when I get around to adding them in a couple of weeks.

any updates on this beauty?
Hey, I ended up moving from Minnesota and Michigan in November. Had to start over with rockscape but everything survived the drive. Everything was in a bin for a week with heater and pump. Couldn't find help to move the actual tank from the truck bed to the garage. But the tank is up and running not as colorful as I wanted but running.

everything is going pretty good. I am trying to figure why my Zoa are struggling and are always closed. Other than that I got this new auto feeder which works amazing. Had to mount on a block so the exit point doesn’t get wet and food get stuck. I also switched out my 10 gallon ATO reservoir with a 27gallon storage bin. I can now be gone away for 22 days. It’s an eye sore but works great.

Update... I found out that my file fish was the culprit to my ZOA colony slowly disappearing. He also went after my acans, and torch corals as well. Catching him was easy and gave him to someone who needed aipstisa gone. Since then tanks is thriving. Had some issue with heat and was able to get fan above it. Will probably attach it to the wall or something.

I've also been looking to update my lights slowly. Been thinking about adding another AI Hydra 64 or switch it out to reefi pro 2.1. I've been going back and forth so that update so far since last time.

that looks great. how long did it take for that gorg to grow? I just picked one up but it's only ~6" tall. I also switched over to a Natura.

The gorg was a few inches shorter than that. I bought that from someone getting out of the hobby in Feb. How are you liking the orphek fixture? is there enough light for what you're planning?

yeah, there's plenty of light. They are custom machining me brackets to hang it since I already have the HMS rail and had to wrap the mounting wire around my rail. they are a great company to do this. I think this pic was at night time when it was winding down.

here's the gorgonian I picked up.

Looks awesome. I'm trying to figure out my lighting still everything that my hydra 64 is touch is growing great the one under prime is slowly growing. Trying to see if I should go and get another 64hd/ edge 68 or get two reefi uno pro 2.1 and replace all lights.

So exciting news. Order my new light the reefi uno pro 2.1 only down part is I got to wait till the end of July. The spread and power was way above AI HYDRA 64 and was $300 less. I also order some Zoa frags from Long Island coral. Saw a post on one of the Facebook community board and reach out the owner. Super quick and got an awesome deal for 9 different Zoas. He gave me free shipping and shipped the very next day. I will post more pictures after a day or two.

These lights are amazing. So glad I went with the Reefi pro uno 2.1 instead of another AI HYDRA. Running the lights at 34%. I also got a whole bunch of great deal on some really good ZOA frags. My clowns just lay some baby roes. You can see the orange eggs in video
