IM nuvo 20 lighting recommendations!

I’m in the process of setting up an IM nuvo 20 and was planning on getting an ai prime but before I pull the trigger wanted to see if anyone else had a different recommendation? Thanks!

Personally I have 2 ai 16hds on my Nuvo 20 I think it’s perfect for spread. I started with 1 when I was lps/softie only but had a ton of shadows and wanted to venture into sps so I added a second one and love it.

Two lights. Much less shadowing.

It would but gives a little less flexibility. For example I have my left light set at higher intensity for sps while my right light is set at lower intensity for lps. Also I have them spaced out further then a 32 would be.

Just to add. The pucks in the hydras are identical to the primes. You’d be better off with two primes for better spread as mentioned previously.

In my opinion you can’t go wrong with the primes. Probably one of the best values out there when it comes to lighting

I also have a hydra26hd over my IM 20. Seems to do fine.

Upgraded my biocube 31 with an AI Prime and I absolutely love it. You won’t be sorry.

I would consider the reefbreeders lights before 2 prime 16hd's any day. The Photon 24-V2+ is about the same price as the hydra 26hd. Not to mention the common issue of melted lenses on AI Primes.

Edit: It's also more powerful than the Hydra26hd.
