A storm last Monday took out the power to my house from 9am to 3pm.
My UPS ran all of my tank for like 40mins. Then the kraken kicked in and ran my return pumps until the power came back on. I have the mightyjets hooked up to a booster so they will run in lower power mode. Tank only dropped to 75F so wasn't bad.

Today I cleaned out my return pumps... they were nasty.

Careful with those nems. In my previous tank I started with one the size of a quarter and ended up with 17 monsters. If they start to split get em out quick 🤣
Yep. Rose anemones have always struck me as a violation of supply and demand dynamics in pricing. How can something that so easily goes from 1 to 15 on its own still be so expensive?

i looked into hatching my own brine shrimp. I bought supplies from aquarium co op. I started my first batch Friday night and woke up sunday morning to harvest. I definetly hatched wayyyyy more than I needed. I must of dumped 100s if not 1000's of them into the tank. Im worried about the ammonia spikes if they dont eat all of them, but boy did the mandarin go crazy.

Anyway, if you're thinking about hatching your own brine shrimp the device below works great

Honestly all I asked ChatGpt for was a mandarin with a full tummy. Kinda reminds me of those inflatable balls with handles for kids to ride… 😉

I guess it prefers to over exaggerate what you ask for 😅

Short video from today.
Moved some stuff around. Some of the new gonies are still acclimating.

Last week I also turned off my DMP40 in the back left. I originally got it because I was getting a ton of brown algae, but I think my tank was still going throw the stages. The dmp lowest setting is 30% and I feel like its too much flow with an MP40 on the other side and both return pumps on max setting.

It grew! I have another one but he resides at the back of the tank lol.
I'm most impressed with the dragon soul torch up top. It started with 2 heads and now has like 14 lol

The torch is certainly impressive I hope I'll see similar growth... how long did the RFA take to grow? I want to buy a couple but no one sells them at a good size, they are all the size of a quarter or less.

I would say theyre about a year old. Maybe younger. I had 2 others, but they didnt acclimate well and melted within a week of owning.

There's a website called reef and bid. The owners (pieces of the ocean) usually have them up for auction. I dont see them having them this week. POTO is semi local to me. I picked up the other at a local LFS called Reefco
