Back in the hobby after 10+ years. August 2024 started an IM 30L build. My lovely wife is already letting me upgrade. I initially wanted the IM 75g INT, however, an LFS had the IM sr80 on display for black Friday pricing. Wife loved it, & I thought it was great as well. Didn't have to assemble anything so even bigger plus.

Anyway, it will be a few months before I get everything together with the upgrade. I will list what I have now, what I've ordered ect.

What I have from the 30L that's going on the SR80

Kessil A160WE (2x) + spectral controller
CoralVue Equiptment ;
CoralVue Launch
CoralVue Kraken w/ Renogy 12v 100Ah AGM battery
CoralVue Control XS
CoralVue Triple Level sensor (2x)
CoralVue PH, Salinity, Temp Probes
CoralVue Automatic Feeder
CoralVue Wifi Strips (2x)
CoralVue Leak Detection

On order:
Kraken lid
Mp40qd
Adaptive reef control board
Helio 2x200watt
Tunze Doc skimmer 9012
Auqa shield midsized UV
Auqa gadget 15g reservior

I have sicce 3.0 Wifi on the 30L but I'm going to see how the stock IM's do.

Current stock:
2 clowns
1 tailspot blenny
1 watchman goby
1 tiger pistol shrimp
Bunch of snails/crabs

Few corals transfering..

It looks like you are off to a great start with a nice setup and some really nice #Hydros gear! Congratulations on the new adventure!

Not much has happened. Got a few more parts rolling in. Filled it with water to test for leaks yesterday and it was not level. Ordered some shims

Back from vacation. Bought some rock on Sunday and slowly filling it up with saltwater since Monday. I work all week so it's slow going after I get home lol

Love this tank. My current custom AIO is based on it, just with wider rear chambers. Following.

I had the day off so I committed at 9am this morning to move everything over.

It actually went smoother than I thought. I got a bunch of cable management and putting the rest of the electronics in it's place to due still. However, it's up and running.

Disassembled the old tank. Have much more room in my basement again. Octospawn is ticked because I glued it back to a plug because I ripped it off while moving the tank

Picked up a cleaner shrimp & a few more corals

I purchased a aquatic life t5 fixture off of Facebook. I'm off today because we're getting a new water heater/furnance. Took the time to put the t5 fixture together. Had to buy 18inch brackets because it was fit for 24 inch wide tank. Took me a few hours to hang/figure everything out lol. Had to drill a new hole in the new bracket.

The only thing is I don't have the shade on my kessils so I'm getting light spill. I have to figure out how to put the shades on but I kinda like it without them on.

First picture is just with the kessils on
2nd is with everything on.

Still have to clean things up but good enough for now

I finally plumbed a Aqua UV sterlizer 15watt hang on back w/ a sicce 1.0

1) Irrational fear of it leaking since it sits outside the tank
2) the return spout is 3-4inchs above the water line so it's loud. I read about this before ordering it so I bought 1inch hose. I was initially going to put it into the 2nd chamber, but I miscalculated how big it is. It won't fit because my tank is too close to the wall. It's in the first chamber where my media basket is. I took the top shelf out so I could put the hose all the way down below the water. It's definelty not as loud, it's more like white noise.
3) While messing around with things I accidently knocked the hose on the outside off & water started pouring everywhere. Luckily not that much but dang... it's such a tight squeeze in that corner too

Still waiting on some bulbs for the t5s to come.
Also, I dumped out the skimmer cup for the first time. Now it's micro bubbles galore lol. I didn't clean it out just dumped it

I’ve been considering upgrading to that same uv and I have the same fear. I use AIO’s to avoid plumbing anything outside the tank. I think that unit would be better than what I have but I can’t quite talk myself into it.

Yeah, exactly my thoughts. I actually have to figure something else out. Without the top shelf of the media basket the water is too loud. So I'm either going to cut the shelf or move the UV to the other side where the filter sock is

I'm just now seeing your controller board! Did you DIY that or have someone make it for you?

It's an Adaptive reef controller board. It's nice, but I think one could make a controller board for a lot cheaper.

I'm off work today because they're installing a new furnance & heat pump, so time to tinker. I moved the UV to the right side first chamber. It's now dumping the water into a filter sock. It's pretty much silent now. Looks a little ugly on that side because I can clearly see it, but I'd rather have it quiet LOL. It now has like 3feet of hose attached instead of 2ish feet but seems to be working well.

I tried cutting the acrylic shelf for the media basic. My cutter that I have just shook the crap out of my hand and barely did anything that's why I just put the UV on the right side haha.
