Hi Folks,

I'm getting back into the hobby and very excited. I'm planning on a 125 gal ish(60x24x24). I have the luxury of a garage directly on the other side of where the tank will be setup. So all my plumbing and supporting pieces will live there. I had the past tank setup done this way. However, it has been over 10 years and I forgot a lot and also know there have been a lot of changes to the hobby. I've been scouring you tube videos and this forum for information, but my eyes are glossy as the amount of information out there is overwhelming to say the least.

I'm hoping I can get some recommendations a good overview/how to for a setup like I am going to be doing - a tank in one room and plumbing going to another room with all the supporting pieces.

Any help would be appreciated. Just trying to cut down my time in from of the computer. : )

Welcome to R2R Steve! Patience is your friend in this hobby, lots of new gadgets and gizmos out there but essentially nothing has really changed about the requirements for keeping a successful reef. my advice is keep it simple, I would start a list of everything you want or need to do with your system and then research each point.. when you ask a question about the best way to do something or the best piece of equipment you are going to get a bunch of answers based on people’s own opinions, personal experiences or preferences, I listen to each suggestion and then use my own best judgment on all the data I have gathered to ultimately make my own decisions. Time spent researching and planning will save you lots of money and headaches down the road.

welcome, try posting what you have come up with so far no matter how basic or flawed it may be. Then you'll get specific advice with pros and cons of each recommendation so you can decide what's best for you.
