Going slow is a very good thing. Best piece of advice can share with you as you start your first saltwater tank is that first and foremost, we manage "water quality." Everything else come later: fish, corals, inverts. Water quality is the key to a strong cycled tank that gives your animals a healthy place to grow. So setting up your own system so it is easy to work with and maintain your tank's water is a very good thing in the long run. ;)
