So the coral warfare continues...

I finally took the plunge and decided to sort out my sunset monti problem. It's been gradually over growing my purple plate and even the blue Gomezi. This is what it looked like before the carnage.

I broke it off and took an oscillator to it, trying to save as much of the Gomezi as I could. I ended up having to bin half of it. I'm now left with this and a hand full of sunset monti frags

I also have a yellow acro with purple tips that was only getting light on half of it so I chopped that as well and added it up beside the large stag at the top of the scape. So it all looks like this now

And because I've got the finesse of a sledge hammer I now have 2 frag racks full of different Montipora and Acropora

I had to cut short the QT process by 7 days as I'm picking up another fish tonight that I got for a steal.

So Goldrim and yellow Coris wrasse added this morning

I thought if I put them into an acclimate box it might help stop the murder picture that was soon to start.

Safe to say it dosnt and the powder blue is now hammering the life out of it even tho the goldrim is a lot bigger. Here's hoping both fish are still here in a few days[emoji852][emoji852]

Also, the mirror trick didn't work

Busy night in the Diggler household. Not only did I add a cracking purple into the QT, but I decided to upgrade the lights.

So up goes these little HD beauties.

After a fair bit of mayhem this morning the tangs have settled in well, let's hope there's no more issues

Hey nice looking tank!!!!

Since you are in the UK I have a question. What medications do you use in your QT? I can't seem to find prazipro here and that's the most common one I see on here all the time.

I use Avaclor, it's an anti malaria drug. It's excellent for QT use

Awesome Tank, The exact size I just decided on for maintenance and other considerations. I am curious do you think it needs 3 lights or could it be done with just two? Noticed you just upgraded. What are the new ones? I think I'll still go MH as I have always preferred it, May give some DIY LEDs ago as I like to build stuff.

Thanks mate, I did run this with just 2 lights for a while then added a 3rd light last year and the corals really took off. I would therefore say 3 lights minimum. The lights I used before the upgrade were the non HD hydra 52 LED's, they are a cracking light. I've just upgraded to the HD's as I got deal on them that I couldn't pass over.
