Is a hosepipe reef safe?

Hi all,

Just a quick question. On BRSTV they said a hosepipe is not reef safe. Is this true? I was hoping to use a retractable hosepipe for water changes in my new house?

Sorry I should probably have clarified. I mean a normal thick strong garden standard hosepipe
