Is Ruby Rally Pro and Kick-Ich Pro reef safe?

I’ll go ahead and go on record and say this is not reef safe and does 100% affect your biome. I have a ICP before and after.. if you’re a jerk like me, I don’t recommend using it. It might be OK for softies and LPS but torches and SPS are not happy.. @vetteguy53081

All "reef safe" medications have the same issue - fish parasites are invertebrate animals. Anything "reef safe" dosed at levels safe for delicate corals is also going to be pretty much "disease safe" as well. Dosing high enough to cure fish diseases outright will likely cause other invertebrate problems.....

Kich rarely if ever has effect. Ruby safe and effective for bacterial, brook and uronema and velvet although I question effectiveness on velvet and Not for ich. Ruby safe for corals and inverts

It may not harm the actual Coral my effect was destroying the biome and causing nutrient imbalance off one dose.

Used Ruby reef rally pro with kick Ich. Lost all SPS. Sticks, chalice, montis, all gone.

Torches have never looked happier.

Been about a month since Ive used it and am having problems with my fungia that used to be perfectly happy with gorgeous polyp extension.
Some zoa's after multiplying like crazy have bleached and are struggling. The tank is just not the same. I've had on/off bacterial blooms/cloudy water. I'm considering bringing in some live rock from someone else's tank. Maybe that will help restore balance.

Fish look great though, just not sure it was worth it. 😐

Tried and true QT systems are the way. And do not introduce anything with out a QT. My lesson has been learned, and never again without QT after a velvet outbreak I had.

I'm not a fan of either of those two products, but I've never used both at the same time. However, my reluctance to use them isn't based on harm to invertebrates, but rather, their mildness means they are not always effective at curing external fish diseases in a reef tank. Are you certain that this was cause and effect? Could there have been some other underlying issue that caused the corals to die?

Tank had been stable and thats been the only change. Auto top off, TDS reading 0. Light/feeding schedule the same. I added a UV and carbon that cleared up the cloudy water.

Maybe it was the carbon? But sps started looking bad during the dosing period. I stopped dosing ruby reef after the 3rd dose due to my corals looking like poop.

I think you can rule out carbon use. It may well be the two medications in combination - I'll defer to anyone who has tried both at the same time....

This just happened to me .. sticks , Montis bleached out , hammers and Goni have closed and haven’t opened since , even after water changing and stopping . Fish store said DT and reef safe . Wish I never tried it

Ah sorry to hear. I feel like everything is finally starting to make a comback. In the end lost multiple SPS ~8 or so, 4 fungias, about 3 octospawns, a couple hammers, and my chicago sunburst that is fighting for its life still. The LPS/nem bleached just about overnight.

Pods are finally visible again. During tx they mustve all died because I did not see any pods. They used to be all over the algea on my glass.
