Folks,

The Trident NP has been on my radar screen for the last 6 months. I've read most of the threads, but none that were recent.

With the firmware updates, etc that Neptune has put out, is the NP becoming more accurate and stable, or is it still to be avoided?

Thanks!

Yes/No….
I have two units …neither agree with my Hanna’s but following a reagent change the reading became more inline….closer but I still have low confidence…

So maybe…..
anyway, just my guess, but I think the reagents are the issue

Thanks. I wonder if Maven will be the holy grail of testing? I already have a Trident, so I'm on the fence as to what to do about the NP or wait for a Maven.

I’m in the same boat, and thinking about it
… I got so many apps already, just not sure I want to add a 3rd “equipment universe” in addition to the current Red Sea/Neptune mess I’m currently dealing with

Any updates on the NP? I'm seeing some on the used market from frustrated users that has given up.

What is really interesting all of these youtubers have not really done a thorough review of the NP. They have like a first impression, but after months, no one has given a longer term review. BRS...crickets. Mr. Saltwater...initial review. Where are the reviews?

Mine is all over the place. Initially phos didn’t work. Then after the update it worked. Then this summer it was way off because of bad reagents. And over the last month or so phosphates just read 0 all the time, when Hanna shows 0.08-0.10. At this point I’m just gonna ignore phos and only use nitrates. That’s still accurate tho.

^ Maybe that's why we don't see any youtube reviews. Most of these youtubers get free product or are sponsored by the manufacturers.

I have one ready to unbox with a new RS Max Nano G2 XL. I think folks are expecting more than what the product may be intended to deliver. My guess is that the reagents may be partially at fault, but more likely a combination of hardware and software/firmware. Most people want PO4 readings for ULS.

The general issue with this vs the Trident, is that one usually needs these readings less frequently when stable, than those by the Trident (which at one point, was and hopefully can still be customized for less frequent readings). I've had the Trident on a Max Mano, Reefer 250 before selling my first one. I have read where others, including myself had better success by calibrating with a different sample. I generally take a sample that I know is good, get it read through Hanna and then sanity check by sending another off for testing. I take those readings and calibrate the first and the second/ From there, I usually get similar to acceptable readings on the Trident.

I'm not sure what to do, I started some carbon dosing because of a crazy GHA outbreak and nitrates in the 20s. The phosphate reads zero, when my hanna says 0.13, the nitrates came down and are reading 0 on the TP but read 0.6 on the hanna. So that correlates, but the phosphate doesn't at all.
