Hey there Reefers! I hope everyone is having a great weekend! I know I did have some fun getting some PAR readings and a couple new corals.

I got this piece from a fellow Reefer and he said it’s a button scoly... now I saw a baby head on the side which led me to think it can possibly be a bowerbanki soooo I thought I’d ask the genius minds of R2R :)

Bowers are generally larger and hardly if ever come in that color. If you paid less than 75-150 I would say its a micro
I got it as a gift from a fellow Reefer he said it’s a button scoly but doesn’t look like one to me

i don’t think it’s a button scoly, I think it’s either a bower or a lord. Can you get another shot of the new head? First thought was that it’s clearly a lord but then I looked at it again and it seems different. I’m still leaning towards it being a lord but could be a bower.

So if you look at the bottom left that’s the new head. Lights are off right now I can try to take a better picture tomorrow.

Shape of the polyp looks like lordhowensis. bowerbanki is going to be more smooth.
