Really hard to tell but may be majano. Any way you coukd get a better pic?

Not really it's stuck in a crevice and hard to even look at. I tried prodding it a couple minutes ago to see what would happen and it basically came apart. It disintegrated.

Yea I use to have some when I got some live rock the where in small holes in the rocks

Do they do harm? Benefit the tank at all?

I never seen it do any harm and not sure if they benefit the tank but after a while I didn't see them no more I had around 3
