Is this clam a hybrid?

Hi all just wondering what’s your thoughts on this clam Iridescent orange spots, not had a clam for a wile, it does look a bit unusual to me would the spots grow bigger?

Also could anyone confirm to me if it’s a maxima

I have no idea if it's a hybrid, sorry, but it's GORGEOUS.

As far as being a Maxima, hard to tell, but it looks like it does have the tell-tale ridges on the shell, so yeah, it likely is.

That just look like a Maxima to me. Why do you think it is a hybrid? Maxima does have brown/orange color. That is the color of a “gold” Maxima. They can have both “gold” and blue on the same clam.

Ive seen the orange ones, I was thinking hybrid as they it’s not just orange, it’s a iridescent/metallic, I've read in RB that it’s a kind of mutation, was wondering if it’s more common now days.
