10g is the perfect size for a QT. TTM is tank transfer method. The theory behind it is letting the ich fall off of the fish and getting him into a new sterile QT before the ich can form cysts and reproduce themselves many hundreds of times as free swimmers. After transferring several times you will have outpaced the life cycle of the ich and will have a fish that no longer has any of the parasites attached.

You may have to let your display go fallow for 76 days before returning the fish to the tank however.

Solid plan. You may be trying a to solve a problem that doesn’t exist.

I’d also keep copper and prazi on hand in the future for QT protocol on new fish and treating potential not QT fish that may have issues.

I don't think you meant it like it sounds, but do you feel I should not have offered what I know about treating ich? It is all speculative at this point for sure.

You are correct, it was not directed at the advice he was being given or by those giving it. The advice provided was spot on.
My comment was directed at the OP. I sense him panicking of sorts. Best to just take a breath and see what you have. And then start absorbing the sound advice.

Okay i will keep that in mind it does look like the white spots aren't there anymore and I gave him some nori this morning and he ate that and he did poop so idk if thats good or bad

There are some floating bits in the water because I couldn't clean it %100 but the black stuff is carbon that idk was in the filter he still has the white spots and im going to put him in a 20 gallon with my 4 clowns and ill put in my wrasse tomorrow morning because idk where he is right now

What is TTM i have him in a small 10 gal right now because thats all I had time for to put him in I also have 2 20 gals I can set up.

Sometimes the white spots are sand stuck on them and it drOps off by the next day. Sometimes it’s ick or velvet. It’s good that you’re paying attention. Hopefully it was just sand. But now you know to post pics under white light and have those two meds on standby. So it was a good exercise either way. :)

Yeah I have them in qt right now because the white spots are still there but im going to try the TTM method to see is that works because I have multiple tanks i can use

You can use some large pvc couplers and 90* so they have a places to hide.
Use 2 sets. One for each tank

Yeah I went to the hardware store today to get them some because I didn't have any on hand last night but I got all 5 of my fish in qt right now and my plan is to do the TTM method because thats the easiest right now and I dont have any copper right now. Also FYI 4 of my fish are small and one like a medium

If you have access to one, an inexpensive SeaChem ammonia badge is good to have in a QT that has no biological abilities. Prime is also good to have as an ammonia reducer for QT. Don't exchange anything between transfer tanks not even wet hands or a towel, the next tank in waiting needs to be sterile. Every time you transfer, the number of ich parasites goes way down. In theory it works.

As Ziggy said, when you have the opportunity stock some Copper Power and Prazipro. I think you said you already had a copper checker.

I have copper and a copper checker coming on wensday and I will definitely keep it in stock because I do plan to get more fish when this is all over and ill probably wait an extra month or two just to be sure the ich is gone. And i will definitely be sure to keep you updated. I dont have prime but I can get some after work today i think. And i have a sterile tank that ill transfer them to on Monday than ill sterilize the tank there in after I transfer them out with a little bleach or vinegar (haven't decided yet). And let it air dry out

Yeah that's my plan I've tried to fo as much research before I did the TTM method

Never thought of that i have 2 qt tanks that are both bare bottom and have no live rock so it wouldn't matter if I did hypo or copper. I just never heard of hypo and I know a lot of people that use copper and it works well for them.

Here is my post on hypo. It works well for ich and flukes if done correctly.

Officially I believe like a tablespoon per gallon is enough to kill anything. But I use quite a bit more than that lol.
