I had this yellow belly hippo in copper quarantine for past 2 weeks. 2 days ago her body was completely clean of any visible parasites. Today I was about to transfer her to a copper free quarantine and I saw this white spots all over her. I have never seen ick this big. Is this ick or flukes?

Can someone please help identify?
Thanks!

These are mucus cones likely starting from skin irritation which these fish are susceptible to and may be mixed in with ich. You will also notice other occupant show no signs but best would be to place all fish in a separate tank or container and treat with coppersafe or copper power at 2.25ppm for 30 days and leave display tank fishless for 6 weeks. Monitor copper level with Hanna brand copper test kit

M3, how are you measuring copper and how often while in Qt? Seems strange that you would seeing this after 14 days.

There are so many spots on the glass - it all looks the same. You don't need #fishmedics yet - you need windex. However if the photo reflects only what's on the fish - treat with copper as per what @vetteguy53081 recommended - and all of your other fish as well

This is a top down view. Those spots on glass next to fish are the bare bottom of tank.

Yes the the fish is in 2.35ppm of copper using Hanna past 14 days

Yes I’ve been treating fish a lot past few months. This is very strange. Copper level is 2.35ppm checked every other day.

Thanks, but this fish has been in copper quarantine by itself past 14 days. She had some ick spots 2 weeks ago so she went into copper QT. Within 7 days she completely cleared of ick. Today marked 14 days so I was going to transfer her to a copper free QT tank and saw all these white spots. I know she was free of spots on Friday and this all happened in past 24 hours.

Had an experience not long ago…. Reason why I back Jay’s 30 day copper protocol is because it’s needed. Had a yellow and a purple in QT for 2.5 weeks. In the mix ich spots showed up during at the 2.5 weeks of QT.

I now tell everyone stop the two week ordeal. You can still possible have infected fish. And you put them in your DT after a two week QT in copper of 2.25 ppm or more. Then a few weeks or a month in the fish blast off into ich nation. Especially if we are talkin Tangs.

This is not actually classic ich but mucus cones which may be mixed in with ich. These fish get skin reactions and treats differently than standard ich and Ive seen also levels above 2.25ppm copper, these cones get stubborn.

I agree 14 days is too hard to tell however are we to assume the fish is laying on the bottom the tank - which is a very bad sign. I would make sure your other parameters are in range in your tank. I would also double check your copper level (on another machine)

Can you supply clearer pictures and/or video?

This species sometimes reacts to copper by creating those mucus cones. Trouble is, there can also be some ich mixed in, especially if the copper treatment is shorter.

Here is a video hope it comes thru . This hippo tang is eating and swimming well. The pic of it laying on bottom It was a case where I was shining a light and trying to take pic and it’s trying to play dead. My other hippo has similar behavior.

Those do look like mucus plugs. It is breathing too fast, but that may just be because you were up close taking the video.

I'd continue the copper for a full 30 days.
