so what are you going to get to replace the damsel?

@mattzang You know me too well! Haha I'll let the Royal Gramma recover first. I want something blue. Any ideas? I really love the way the damsel looks but can't let it kill the Royal Gramma. I mostly got the Royal Gramma for my fiancee since she though it was so pretty.

Couple of bad pics of the Royal Gramma. Lights were already going down by the time I could give it much attention. It ate today and seems to be exploring around just fine. I have a feeling it's going to pull through just fine. 20190501_184130.jpg 20190501_184135.jpg

lol, gotta have the tank loaded with fish imo!

idk blue is surprisingly difficult to find. i have a springers damsel who has never bothered anyone, but as far as i know they're supposed to be on par with azure damsels and pretty peaceful.. but uhh lol.

my mom actually has a blue gudgeon which is really pretty, but oh man it is a timid fish. hides constantly and you barely see it.

clown solon fairy wrasses are a beautiful blue, but i think they need a bigger tank

pygmy cherub angels are a beautiful blue, but apparently kinda mean and kinda not always reef safe

and lastly i can think of is that blue reef chromis, but ehh i've seen them in person before and they're pretty meh.

if you haven't seen a pygmy cherub in person before you gotta check them out, it's a beautiful blue

Yeah I'm a big fan of "over stocking" myself. I used to have 15 cichlids in a 55 gallon, it was pretty sweet. That pygmy cherub looks promising. I really want a blue tang or whatever Dory is. That will be on the list for sure once the tank gets upgraded. Thought about getting a small one now but decided against it. One day though...

Mandarin goby is on the list but probably not feasible either due to having a wrasse already that will probably eat all the pods lol. That guy is a pig!

We have a new tank boss!

20190503_174347.jpg

JK it still spends most of the time right inside it's hidey hole which is near the middle of the tank and out of view for good pics. Managed to get a couple though.

I don't personally see any signs of ich. Anyone else? Not the best lighting.

The Royal Gramma is definetly feeling more confident. I noticed it has a little spot on it's body. The spot doesn't show up when not using the yellow filter. So not sure if it was there before or not.

I'm thinking it's going to do just fine though.

Hmm more spots on the Royal Gramma. I wonder if the wrasse is beating it up or something. Does anyone think it could be a disease? Or just scrapes?

Sorry about the gramma, I have the opposite problem, my gramma beat the snot out of my starkii damsel who was in the tank BEFORE the gramma. My gramma is large and fat/healthy though so he is bossy and mean. I am now going to try a bigger Starkii.

his belly looks kind of sunken too, may need to treat that quick before he stops eating.

Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't notice that before but it's belly does look sunken in a bit. Man it eats like a pig so it must be internal parasites. I'll start the focus and metro I have on hand and monitor the spots. If it fully breaks out then going to have to fire up the QT. If the spots get better I may opt to treat all the fish at a more optimal time. Still up in the air at the moment obviously. My hope is that it's immune system (and all the other fishes immune system) helps it stay healthy. Not sure how realistic that is but I can hope.

Oh man I love the Starcki Damsels they look so nice. And thank you. All part of the hobby I suppose. I've been down right lucky so far so eventually something is bound to happen. No losses so far and hoping to keep up that streak but we will see what happens. All I can say is that I'm going to try my best and do what I feel is right and take it one step at a time. Hoping for the best currently right now but we will see what happens. Maybe tomorrow we will see it either get a little worse or a little better.

Unfortunately it looks like ich.

I'm getting conflicting reports. Some ppl said it looked too big to be ich. That small spots are usually ich, but based on the way it seems to be spreading I think you are right.

#reefsquad

Can you confirm this looks like ich? I had one person say maybe flukes. Reposted pics so you don't have to hunt for the pics.
