I lost my 75 gallon mixed reef during a move and went fowlr for the last 7 years. Finally getting back into corals with a new setup. 40 breeder display with 40 breeder sump. Bare bottom, dry rock and synthetic water(it's easier to get natural sea water in South Florida), 250 MH/T5 and currently cycling.

It's a SCA 302 if I recall correctly. I'm running a reef synergy 16 Shadow with a Jebao DCP 8000 running at 100% . My drains are inch and a half and my return is inch and a quarter. Honestly it's pretty quiet at that flow. I can hear some splashing from the internal box but it's more pleasant than annoying.

My children are much too impatient, they want emerald crabs and an anenome now. This tank hopefully will teach them a little bit about patience. I'm planning on using a doser and esv b-ionic. That's what I used way back when. I was going to go Triton but I don't want to deal with the supply issues. I just bought chaeto from another forum member and following that (after a few weeks) try zoa's. Ultimately I'd like to go full on SPS. I've noticed that corals have become way more expensive. I remember buying full colonies of zoas and LPS for what frags cost now and I can't believe I actually saw someone selling caulerpa for way more than shipping!

New photos. I found a killer deal on a lifereef VS3 24 on eBay so the SCA 302 is retired. I've only had the lifereef since Monday and it is already pulling skimate. The person I bought it from goes by bcdavis on eBay, he really hooked me up. I bought one from him about 2 weeks ago and it arrived broken from USPS mishandling I contacted him imeadiately and he sent another one out for free. Soaked in vinegar and cleaned up with a bottle brush and GTG.
