After multiple attempts to connect the lights via wifi, I have deployed a standalone 2.4 g wifi router. This router has a unique ssid and password.

I still can’t get the lights to connect!

Native AP mode works, but not wifi.

It isn’t a router issue anymore, as I have the inkbird, and the Coralvue Hydros successfully connected to the standalone network with no issues whatsoever.

I’m not exactly technically challenged, but I am at my breaking point on this.

Can someone please walk me through this in English please?

If I have missed a step, I sure as hell don’t know what I missed!

Thanks,
Butch

I have uninstalled the app, reinstalled the app, tried to connect one light at a time, tried to connect as master slave, used different iOS devices, moved the 2.4 wifi router 6 inches away from the lights, all with no positive result.

The app sees the ssid, but will not find the lights.

Just a thought here. You say a dedicated 2.4 router, are there other wi-fi channels available that the lights are seeing?

You're not the only one who has had issues with these devices and their janky wifi implementation.

What router are you using? In the configuration/settings for your 2.4ghz network there should be an option to change the available "Minimum Basic Rate (MBR)". Vendors may call this different things, knowing the model of router will help me give you more accurate instructions.

But basically, for testing purposes we want to find this "MBR" setting and change it to a lower threshold. The default value may be something like "6Mbps", "12Mbps", "G/N Mode" or "N-Strict" mode. We'd want to change it to "B/G Mode" or "B/G/N Mode" or "1Mbps".

Let me know if you can find any of those options and test the connection. Note that if this works it isn't necessarily a *good* fix (there are reasons for why those old data rates aren't default settings anymore), but it might get us in the right direction.
