im a new reefer an d was wondering how long usually and what i need to do to get a nice purple rock i started with dry rock and noticed a nice brown almost rusty looking algea growing on rocks glass and after a while and water changes got off sand but remains nice and healthy on rocks i reaserched it and mostly saw positive responses over . i have a 36 gallon with plenty of rock and 2 clowns and 5 hermits and a few corals i bought kent purple tech because i saw some articles about it and wanted to know if its a good product for my situation if it could hurt my coral and if it helps that coraline algea come in nice and healthy

The way to get coralline is to get a scrap of it and then placing it in your tank. There is a company that sells a bottled version of coralline algae. Becareful with purple tech and things like purple up as they can raise things such as calcium, iodine, etc. very high if you aren't needing to dose them.

Don’t use purple tech and purple up if you’re already using other chemicals speaking from experience. added sand to my tank and thought It would be a good idea to add this a day or two after adding sand. one of my clownfish passed away .. perfectly healthy fish just couldn’t take the two changes in an environment IMO..
