I decided to start growing SPS and LPS in a smaller tank until my lights in my main tank are up to the par they need to be at. My main display is still a nano at 29gal, but to me that is still a large tank.
This frag tank has been up and running now for about two weeks, and is going awesome! I have already seen some growth on the montie, and the war coral.
I guess you can call me a nano freak, this is just one of the 5 nano tanks I have around the house
So the wife would not yell at me again for setting up another tank, I rearranged a few things under the main display so I could put the frag tank there. Believe it or not, the tank being on that level makes it awesome for laying down and taking pictures of it, and just watching things slowly grow.
Tank specs:
5.5 gallon
Tom's canister filter ( running Seachems bag, and filter pad only)
Kessil A150w 15k light
nano skimmer
1 powerhead, and one nano pump for extra flow
Levels:
pH: 8.4
Ammonia: .25
Nitrite: .5
Nitrate: 5
Ca: 480
Kh: 11
Mg: 1360
Salinity: 1.026
Tank corals:
Green Hydnophora
Green Slimer
Pavona
Birds nest
ORA Hawkins "Enchinata"
ORA sunset monti
War coral
a few unknown zoa's and a few I do know.
And onto the pictures I'm sure you are all wanting to see..... I'm guessing a few of you skipped the reading part and moved directly onto the pictures
The full shot, main display nano on top, and frag nano by the sump.
I am running the nano frag tank separate from the main display tank. I am keeping the levels higher for the frags to grow, before I add them to the main nano.
Please keep following along, I am working on getting some close up pictures of the frags (if I can figure out this pesky camera issue)
