Lag on forum page

When I first load up R2R there is no lag getting to the home page but when I click on "Forum" it takes 20-30 seconds to load th page and if I navigate back to the page via the back button then the 20-30 second lag/load time begins again. I think it may have started when that extra navigation/thread tool started to pop up on the left side of the screen.

I've got to admit that it's more than slightly annoying and has been causing me to utilize the forums less because of that lag. Is there a way I can fix this to remove that lag/load time?

HAHA! JK not sure what is causing you the issue but I am not getting it. Do you have PM's that are coming through when you try to load? That lags for me sometimes.

No. Like I said it's never done it before that new thread box started coming up on the left side of the forum section.

I have problems when I get pms it takes awhile to load but besides that it doesn't seem slower than any other page....

Seriously though. The forum page lags for me also. Everything loads quick except the sponsors banners are what slows it down. My issue is my computer and memory though. When I use my laptop there is a slight delay but only a brief one.

I have the lag issue on the main forum page. it lags just scrolling up and down the page but once you get into a thread than there is no issue.

Exactly. Once you're navigating around to other areas then there's no lag..it's just the main forum page where all the topics/threads are posting and I guess that's why it's the most annoying page because it's the one that you kinda need the most if you want to navigate through the forums.

I'm glad others have had the issue.

I don't know if something was changed...but the lag doesn't seem to be nearly as bad as it has been for a while.

I hadn't paid much attention to the lag but now that the stuff on the left side is gone,it is loading up faster...the lag doesn't have much to do with the PC,it's the Internet connection...dial-up would take days to load all that stuff where DSL is almost instant :D

I don't know..I've always had cable and only really noticed it when that new box came in on the left side of the screen. Since they took it away though I am rocking again and the site feels so much better.

I miss the side bar personally.. It was nice to come in and see what threads were active. Heck in this hobby you are taught patience, funny people are complaining about 20-30 seconds LOL... Oh well each to there own.
