With filefish - I have a trick. One or two days before I would catch them I take a flash light after the light have been out for som hours. They have a funny ide that they will spend the night up in the water in some corner of the aquarium. I locate where. The night I shoul catch them - just the flashlight in their eyes and a fast use of my net. I have done it for years and at least 8 different file fish have been catch the same way. Locate its sleeping corner - net it

That new clam has a beautiful shade of blue! How fast do the clams grow for you?

The large one was a little bit larger than the blue one 2 years ago - the one to the right was new last summer -a little bit larger than the blue

When I saw it at the LFS - I thought a lobo but when it come in in my tank (its 4 days old in my tank) it looks like something else. We will see

I will send in both an ICP and a N-DOC test to TRION today. This video is a document how the tank looks at this moment - before testing

This was excellent @Lasse
Now I am certain my tank is too small for a clam.

Yes my clams are soon too large for my tank but the evil plan is that when a rebuild public aquarium will open in 2021 - they should have some beautiful derasa clam in their main display. However - I will always have clams - they are a part of my filtration system - an important part too.

And much more beautiful to look at compared with an internal filter and need no electricity more than the light

Looking so good, I’ll be interested to see your interpretation of your N- doc results, I use triton ICP but I don’t understand enough of the benefits of the N-DOC test and what it’s actually going to potentially tell me yet to try testing

I do not know either but I will test now when things looks good - I know what I´m doing and can compare with the first time I test.

And today - I got the answer - looks good. PO4 by TRITON 0.14 - by my Hanna 0.08 ppm as PO4. There is some particles and TRITONS value is caculated from found P - so no panic :)

NO water change since 2018-01-20 - 14 months
