I do not how understand how my tank develops at the moment. If I only use my eyes on some corals - the answer is obvious - nutrient deficiency, the same with my chaeto and some very small patches of cyanobacteria. if I look at my measurements or some other corals - not a nutrient deficiency. My NO3 show around 4 ppm or less (using the high scale on Red Sea Pro says below 4 and using low scale - says 4 ppm. My PO4 shows everything between 0.30 to 0 ppm. The lower when I run my Al phosphorous absorbent. The funny thing is that I now add around 2 ppm NO3 on a daily basis - the NO3 readings does not rise !

The PO4 was nearly 0.3 in the morning 2 days ago. Two tests. Start the absorbent 7/24 and read 0 in the evening !. Add a very small amount of PO4 and read 0.03 yesterday morning. Today I read 0.05 ppm in the morning. I will add around 0.03 ppm during the afternoon and see whats happens. I have particles in my water - they can disturb the PO4 readings - but I do not know what disturb the NO3 readings - if anything disturb it. I have lover the flow through my reversed DSB. Will measure NO3 tomorrow. At the moment - I have stopped the H2O2 too - just a control thing.

Sincerely Lasse
Just wondering what are you Mn, Mo and Iron levels, maybe you are too low in these I have to dose all 3 in addition to ATI pro as my algae and corals seem to consume lots of them. Especially seeing you are not nutrient deprived

Mn (last test - 2 months ago) 0 (but have always been there) But I have dosed it up
Mo (last test) 3,762 µg/l It is true - have been higher before around 10 and more. Have not add it up but going to. Reason for this - I saw some cyanobacteria and Mo can probably increase their growth.
Iron - 0 - have always been there but I have start dosing

I will send a test tomorrow

Sincerely Lasse

Now I will be dosing 1 ml of Triton Fe every day by a dose pump. Steady dosing for the moment, Sr and Fe Triton (1 ml day), Iodine - Salifert (2ml/day) Core 7 other methods - around 30 ml/day. NO3 - around 1.5 ppm/day and PO4 - < 0.01 ppm a day. I have denitrification as it look like and run Al based "GFO"

10:00 this morning - PO4 -> 0.05; 17:00 -> 0,06 ppm. Will take a measurement at 20:30 too

I’m sure you know this but It may be worth changing to standard core7 as it has whatever triton put into it to grow algae better, the “other methods” doesn’t have this as it’s meant for systems without an algae bed.

I know that and I have used it before. The problem this time was that my LFS did not have any Core 7 Triton method at home and only the 10 L tanks.... So I have to run this for some months now :)

By the way - this evening -> PO4 -> 0.04 ppm.

That sounds to me like a possible connection and potential reason you may be having some small issues...

Thank you for the analyse - my measurements was needed to be checked. I´m not sure on my Hanna checker - it shows 0.12 one hour prior to the test I bring you. I have sent a test to Triton - we can tripple check the concentrations. My tests vary a lot - can be caused by particles. I will do two tests in the evening - one in the DT and one in the sump. My KH and NO3 is the same as yours - more or less.

This hobby is full of knock outs and smaller jabs. There is something going one with some of my euphyllia - the question is only - what in heck happens. Close to mu torch I have another type and suddenly - two days ago - there was damage done to one of the heads. It was in the range of sweepers from the torch and for the moment I think that this is the reason. I have moved the torch. However - I have not notice earlier that different types of euphyllia hurts each other, maybe there is exceptions with regard to torch. Some of my euphyllia is smaller than before but I have change the angel of one of my light bars two weeks ago (changed back now). The picture below show the coral in question but it is early in the morning and difficult to say how the rest of the heads will look like in full lighting. No brown jelly at all. Polyp bail out?

I have also some some thoughts on predation because I have a filefish in order to take away aiptasia and I do not trust this fishes - but never heard about them attacking Euphyllia. I have lately also added 10 Scutus unguis but not heard anything bad about these snails - maybe they will attack my sponges but nothing else.

You don't have any fish that could be nipping, do you?

Yes - the filefish is high up in the list but never ever heard that they hit euphyllia

I ask this because I have had it happen......Is the coral so retracted into the skeleton that you just can't see it? I had what I thought was a few dead heads on one, moved it to a new tank without clipping those off(was in a hurry) and low and behold they came out from deep in the skeleton.

They have bailed out - what I understand. They look bad and some day afterwards they just seems to leave. The torch last head look bad a week ago but have return in a better shape.

Things looks a little bit better but I will lose one more head on the last euphyllia.

I´m on my way to move all electrical things from my sump cabinet into a new cabinet and change it from a snake pit to something more organized.

@Ditto Here is the start of the new project based on GHL:s power hubs

part.jpg

For the moment - I think that I have around nine 24 V DC power adapters and six 12 V adapters. Lot of wires it will be ;)

Now I will concentrate everything and get rid of all lose adapters and have everything managed by my P4.

Here is the first part - this will take time

@Lasse - very nice can not wait to see the final results.

Does the 6D reduce the power based on the input? So if the input is 24vDC all the outlets connected to it would be 24vDc?
The 6D is basically a set of dry contacts. Whatever wetting voltage you apply (up to 230VAC) is what the output will provide.

Exact. Operating power is (for me in Sweden) 240 V but each of the relays break whatever you want up to 240 V. AC or DC and different voltage can be mixed in the same unit.
