Sometimes you do things - not thinking of what will happens in the next hours or so. This is a type of thing happens for me today- around 17:00 o'clock - I did something and it result in a drop of pH. This drop have nothing to do with the facts that my wife crash the living room couch with a good book around that time (higher CO2 level in the living room) - it a result of a thing I did with the aquarium some minutes before.

The guessing game is on (and I did not crash in the same couch - adding more CO2 to the air)

Hint - I changed out something.

I change my GFO media - 50% GFO and 50% Al based media. this one source of lowering the pH that´s normal is not accounted for.

Some of my clams is placed rather close to the front window of the aquarium. Hence - the mantle touch the window when its fully expanded. I have to clean my windows every second to third day. This what will be developed if the window there the mantle touch the window not will be cleaned in 2 days - a film of calcium carbonate on the window. The force of calcification is strong among clams!!!

I saw a Butterflyfish in a video in your youtube channel.
It looks like a short nose Cooperband.
Which fish is that?

I´m sorry to say that this fish died after 1.5 months and I have not been able to get a new one. I get it 1 of february and when I come home after a weeklong trip to Norway (it was the days we was allowed to visit Norway) I could not found him/her. The name is Parachaetodon ocellatus and should be rather reef safe what I understand. I did not see him/her doing any damage on my corals. I want a butterfly in the tank and looking for a very small copperband or this fish in the future.

Here is some new (but with old content) pictures from my reef

First my "linslus" (photobomber in swedish )

This is a test - how is the meanest - this one or the GSP in the background. I have always want to have this hard coral - but it is known as a ******. But maybe it can fight the GSP in the background - we will see

I like mushrooms - here is some from the tank

just like in nature it can get crowded - I have not told my corals how important it is with social distancing today - Maybe I should

And of cause - some Cardinals

And I do not understand how these coloured sticks could get into my aquarium

I'm sorry to hear that, Lasse.
That's a very beautiful and unusual fish.
I only saw it one time in a store here in Brasil.
I almost took him home, but the lack of information about feeding and behaviour towards corals made me rethink. What a shame.
I have now a Cooperband. If I see another one someday, maybe I can give it a try.

Six spined butterfly fish (Parachaetodon ocellatus) Feeding tips, please.

Hi, Is anyone keeping these guys alive? What and how do you feed them? They are local fish (I am in Thailand) and the best thing I've had for aiptasia control. I've tried Matted filefish, Raccoon butterflyfish, Orange butterflyfish but they are like dogs eating sps polyps, copperbands they...

It seems like it is difficult to feed this fish. I feed mine with frozen artemia and black mosquito larvae - he/she eat all the time but was rather spinny when I got him/her. They are seldom here too - it was a special delivery that got this fish to me.
