Hello,
I just got a purple tang in from live aquaria today and noticed some weird marks on it. Is this lateral line disease? Some other type of disease? I added pictures to this discussion.

HLLE is usually caused by poor nutrition. Try vitamin enriched foods and make sure she has plenty of algae to munch on, and keep the water in pristine condition.

Thank you, I’m surprised live aquaria would send something in this condition

If that is the way you received it from them, I would maybe shoot them an email letting them know. Just in case something happens and the fish unfortunately doesn't make it, you have it documented with them your concerns.

Agree ^^^

It is definitely HLLE. Try soaking food with Zoecon. It seems to work the best for getting rid of HLLE. This is a moderate case, and the fish may or may not heal up 100%.

It also may take a while to begin to look better. I have a desjardini that I have been working with on HLLE for about 7 months. He Is improving but still no where near 100%. It was a severe case to begin with.
