Led questions

k my tank is 6ftx2ftx30inchs. I want to go led's on it. But there is so many brands out there not sure what to go with. So for a decent price what would you guys go with? Want a controller with it. AI's I would prolly need 4 units right? the new mazzara maxspects would I also need 4, or would I need more? what other brands?

Thought about a diy? I built my own and it was easy to do.

I have one on my red sea max that i bought and had to soder one star on and didnt do to well lol. not good at that kinda stuff.

You can also do solderless setup where a connector bolts over the star, it's is REALLY cool but adds cost but you would have to epoxy the star or solder. This makes replacing a star as easy as removing 2 machine screws, lifting off the connector removing the star, and wiping off the old thermal compound and the reversing to reinstall. This adds both cost, install time and limits your choice in optics though, but imo is REALLY REALLY slick.

For this you have to drill and tap the holes for the screws or buy self-tapping machine screws.

BUT I did go with AI personally so... :D

hmm didnt know that maybe will have to look into it. what is the best place to buy all the stuff to get this set up? what would be ideal for what I need led wise?
