Not a question but thought I might point out this beauty.
A flasher with markings more like a fairy.

Very nice specimen but wow on the price! Begs the question how old is it and how much longer will it survive.

Well it's been available for 15 minutes and hasn't sold yet, so others probably have similar reservations.

Hey Evolved are you aware of any Wrasse that nips , picks or even eats vermetid snails?
Some Halichoeres species will, but none of them are apt to eradicate a population.

Not by coincidence, but when it was first documented, it was thought to be a Cirrhilabrus. It wasn't until later it was corrected to Paracheilinus.

It looks like a Labout's fell in love with a nursalim flasher......:D

Not really and ID question, but a question for wrasse expert. TIA

Is my Red Head Solon Fairy deformed? There is a clear bump on his body, just behind the face as can be clearly seen in the two picture below. First picture is the picture from LA and 2nd picture is my wrasse. Is this a deformity or an artifact due to the fact that my wrasse is very fat. I look at pictures of all these wrasse on the internet, but not really see anything similar to this. He was not like this when I first got him, emaciated and dull in color. He really blossomed in my tank. I wonder if this is his stunted growth due to previous malnutrition.

It's a combination of being a little overweight, but also, in my opinion, from living longer in captivity than in the wild. Body parts just keep growing, but just disproportionately.

This came to my local fish store as a filimented fairy wrasse. Any guess as to what it actually is? I think he had one purple dorsal fin (or I only saw one)

Not 100% sure this is a wrasse but the guy at the lfs said he thought it was and I agree. I'm about halfway through this whole thread and haven't seen this one yet (still working on reading the second half!)
