As long as it’s equally off-level across the whole span (plane), it doesn’t need to be perfectly level…

It becomes a problem when the tank is being twisted by multiple high spots!

Check tank contact with stand, and stand contact with ground to ensure it’s not rocking, and has no air gaps between tank and stand, or large bridged gaps between stand and ground (ensuring that the stand isn’t going to sag over time and cause problems)…

If you have any issues with the contact between stand and ground, shims work well to get things supported better (and level, if you put the extra effort in)

— this is primarily caused by floors often not being perfectly level, or plane, unfortunately!

It can lead to uneven pressure on the glass causing leaks. Nothing good can come from it. Tanks can get leaks prematurely and can potentially even lead to catastrophic failures of the glass like the glass pane just suddenly bursting. The stand hopefully should have little leveling feet on the bottom of it, if it came with the tank, that could help adjust the level. If not, you can use shims to level, it out. But yeah, definitely not something to ignore. Get it fixed ASAP

Depends upon how long the tank is. The water inside the tank may tend to splash out on the low side? Easy fix is to put shims under the low end between the floor and the stand.

Best bet is shimming along the ensuing center air gap, too… I learned that one the hard way…

if you reference my build thread, you’ll see what happens to a 6ft span of wood stand supported only by both ends!

When it comes to level anything, close enough just doesn't work for me.
Do whatever it takes to level it.
