Good Day,

Can anyone make a light recommendation for a reef tank for me please? I am rebuilding my 60cmx60cmx60cm (24"x24"x24") cube into a custom tank that will be built into a previous wall-cupboard space.

90cm length x 55cm width and 60cm height (water level) - 35" x 21" x 24"

This will be for LPS/Softies.

Looking for LED not T5. Something that comes with moonlight function and is adjustable. Preferably something that won't boil the water. Something that isn't DIY please.

Thank you very much in advance

2 x Radion 15 G6 will do you just fine in my opinion :) and trust me- you'll get plenty of opinions; choosing lights for your tank is like religion!

I do like the Reef Factory products; I have them all but their lights and i'm gutted!

For a 24x24 system you dont need 2 radions especially if you are stocking with lps and softies. One should suffice.

An AI Hydra 32 would work good too or maybe two AI Primes.

How much space do you have above the tank? A Radion is best mounted about 8" above the water. You could do LPS and softies with a single AI Prime, but it would need to be 12" or more above the water to get the best coverage.

The new AI Blades would be a good option, but you'd need at least 2 of them I'd think.

He's building a 3 foot tank (90 cm) - Upgrading from a 24" cube :)

I would'nt think that just one Hydra could light that much up? Maybe one Radion 30

I saw the 24x24 too, my bad. He'd need at least 2 Primes for LPS and softies. I have 3 for each of my 36" tanks.

Personally, I'd go with a T5 fixture or the Reefbrite T5/LED.

One of these would be all you need, controllable, 3 yr warranty, I run radions but would have gotten these, they just were not released at the time. There is a table comparing the led's to other popular fixtures and such so you can see what each type of led has.
