I have x2 AI hydra 32 lights and one AI blade grow. Lights are 28cm from the water. Not sure if the light schedule is correct. I would really really appreciate it if you guys can help me out and guide me in the right direction. Tank is mixed with acros and LPS.

Thank you for your help! IMG_6190.jpeg IMG_6192.jpeg IMG_6177.png

This is my preference which was taken from the hardcore SPS folks trying to squeeze our max growth and color:
  • All channels for half the day at very high / max intensity
  • Second half of the day ramp down the whites/red/green channels. This naturally results in heavier blue/violet/UV for viewing purposes
  • If you prefer more white then you don’t ramp down whites to zero during the second half of the day. Leaving some white helps you see color on your fish better but you want zero whites if you want to take pictures of your tank for Instagram or to flex

With the lights you have there is near zero chance you will harm the coral. Even if you ran your lights at 100% all channels for 14 hours the coral would likely do just fine. Albeit, if that is what you want you should gradually ramp up to that kind of schedule! The point is there is little to zero chance of you lights providing too much par for a mixed reef with that light setup. You’ll figure out over time whether certain coral prefer lower par. For those stuck them towards the corners and edge of the tank or under an overhang of some sort.

Here is my light schedule on my two ATI Straton X. There are two lines: the red line is two white channels and one red channel, the blue line is two blue channels and one violet channel. I have an SPS dominant tank where the coral is getting absolutely blasted with light (eg, my sand bed is 220-320 par).
