I have a max Nano that I bought used, and the reefled 50 is starting to die on me (I can unplug and replug it in, but I have to do that every day now). It worked pretty well for lighting, im growing mostly LPS, and I'd like to start more SPS in the top.

I'm looking to replace and upgrade the lighting, and I've been looking at the radion x15 g6, or 2AI blades. I'm really hoping to eliminate shadows as that was the major thing stopping SPS growth before, and I'd like to get maximum growing surface out of the small tank

Are those good options? Do people like the AI blades? Is the radion overkill? Any and all suggestions are welcome.

(Ignore the growing bryopsis, that's the next project)

I have no experience with the blades. My experience with radions has been that mobius has an issue and changes date and time randomly and the lights turn on in the middle of the night. For that reason my gen 4 radions are sitting on a shelf. It doesn't happen to everyone but a Google search will show it has been an issue for a long time and ecotech has not corrected it. This was the last switch. I still use mobius for vortechs but I will not be adding any more radions.

I’m a big SPS guy. The bigger the light source, the better to eliminate shadows.

The blades would be fine. Reefi uno is is a great light to consider.

An Aquatic Life fixture running T5/LED hybrid lighting is great for SPS.

Any combination of lights that gives you good spectrum and lots of coverage over the tank will work for you.

DO YOU THINK TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS ARE MORE HELPFUL OR HURTFUL TO REEFING?
