live rock question

ok i came upon 100lbs of live rock infested with mojanos so i fresh water mixed with vinger for 3 days removerd soaked fresh water over night then took outside to back scrubbed all dead stuff off my question is i need this rock ready for another tank i thought i could throw the rock in my sump ne one see a problem with this i just dont have another skimmer or i would set up a tube for it. o yeah my sytem is about 300 gal total

Yes you would kill everything unless your going to use this 100lbs of rock to cycle the tank. This rock will cycle and the ammonia will be off the charts!

thats what i was worried about ill have to get something set up though what do u think would be the quikest i know i can rush the cycle completly but i could use my skimmer for a week or 2 in a tub for it but my skimmer is way over sized for my 35 gal tub

I think your looking at 3-4 weeks. Put it in a tub with fresh salt water and some water movement. You don't need the skimmer. Check it and wait for the ammonia to start spiking and do a water change. Then watch it and see how the cycle goes and go from there.

ok thats what ill do and that will give the girl im setting the tank up for time to get the rest of her equipment together. on a said note though we finally re did the tank at formosa and were trying to find some corals to stock up with but i want everything to settel in for a lil while though. and sorry i havent been active in club or on boards just so busy and with no car and down to 150 a week its been hard but the reef is still going lost all sps a while back tank got infected buy a pest control there was a post lol but everything else is happy just no money to restock sps. but just pm me and delete this thread please
