Finally got around to setting up my new 25 Lagoon. Had to get the stand built and figure out all the equipment and I am about to fill it up. Except I’ve noticed my floors have a lot of give in them on the second story. When you rough house or walk heavy footed in the house a lot of vibrations are made and can not only be felt across the living room but seen in the tank when it has water it in. Not waves but ripples.. Jurassic park T-Rex approaching style.. the floor is just plain bouncy. It’s a newer build in 2020 and the aquarium is set perpendicular to the floor joists with thick rubber matting beneath so I’ve done everything I can to minimize the vibrations but to me personally I feel like it is still quite a bit. With nothing else I can do including a move in location as this is the only approved place by my wife I can put it, is this going to be acceptable? Can the tank handle these vibrations from walking near it and I am just overreacting? Or is this something I should be worried about? It doesn’t weigh a whole lot at 300 lbs but I more worried about the footfall causing seams to loosen or even a crack. Didn’t seem to have any of these issues with my previous build as it was on concrete (obviously).

On question I do have for anyone answering this thread though… does securing it to the studs in the wall actually take out the vibration movement as I have read in another post? It is tempting but just don’t know if it is needed or the efficacy of it
