Alright, so after a couple year hiatus from the hobby, life has afforded me enough free time, ambition, and money to set up another reef tank. Using my feeble minded ability to comprehend things, I’m planning on referencing my past aquariums as far as ease of maintenance.

past tanks include
10g pet store special
20g long
12g aquapod
46g bowfront
Another 20g long
80g deep blue rimless
34g deep blue rimless

I went from no sumps and only pumps to having the yearning for more equipment and a sump to help the “reef”. The need for larger and more advanced equipment grew, however my overall reef health declined. I’m pretty sure it was the misunderstood notion that with all the extra equipment E.g. skimmers, pads, socks, etc., I could be a little lax with the routine maintenance. The beginning of the downfall...

So with that being said, this tank will hopefully be my way of easily keeping a reef that’s small enough to truly correct most problems with manageable water changes alone. I will keep things updated as often as possible

Any questions or feed back will always be welcome.

Equipment list thus far..

Lighting ☀️
Ecotech Xr30 Gen5 blue

Flow
2 x Mp10, 2 x battery backups
Stock return pump

Filtration
2 x media baskets for the options of running carbon as needed and possibly a gfo or chemipure irregularly.
Some kind of filter floss material to keep detritus out of the back chambers

ATO
Reef Breeders Prism

Heater
I live in South Florida so I still have not made this purchase but I’m leaning to the cobalt neotherm.

Cooling
Did I mention I live in South Florida, when I step outside, the sun sucker punches me in both eyes repeatedly. I’m looking into a fan paired with a ink bird controller for a CYA situation

let me know your guys and gals thoughts on this and feel free to chime in with your own experiences with the 25g lagoon or your reefing knowledge in general. Bye for now ✌️

Building the APS stand was a breeze. Well made and pretty sturdy, It is one of the only store bought stands that I feel comfortable putting weight on. I wish it was a little shorter in height for my application, at 36” you have to look up to enjoy it from a sitting position.

Before I purchased the tank, I picked up some live rock from a local reefer moving out of state. It’s been sitting In this 5 gallon tank for a couple of weeks waiting to be aquascaped

I REALLY like your rockwork!

I've been thinking about switching to Radion lights, but as a new Chromebook owner, I'm learning that a LOT of programs don't work well with it. However, their website says you shouldn't be having any issues since it's cloud based. Did you get that sorted out, or should I lower my expectations that I wouldn't have issues with EcoTech + Chromebook?

Thanks! I was unable to get it sorted with reef link and my chromebook. I ended up purchasing a gen5 blue to utilize the mobius app. I bought the reef link used and it did not come with the usb cable, the one I had on hand was a data transfer style cable which may have been the problem

Here is a couple more photos of the Aqua scape. The dimension is really hard to make out in photo and I was will retry uploading a video later. I left enough room behind the rock work for water flow
