I saw a white spot yesterday I was thinking ick today I see three or four so making up some salt water should I use the salt water in the tank and put it in a 10 aquarium to quarantine and use my new salt water to go back in my tank and then what or how to get rid of it

Yes that's exactly what I would do that way you have much less stress put on the fish Because you are using the exact same water
Then treat the fish in the 10. Keep him in there for at least 2 weeks after treatment is finished and also keep an eye on other fish in the original tank ick spreads quick

Just from experience with this I would go ahead and treat him especially since you have set up a quarantine. Better safe then sorry. Copper is the most effective way to treat ick(Check species compatibility). you will need a test kit to monitor the levels. How many other fish are in the tank? I only ask because treating the one fish should save it, but as long as there are other fish in the DT ick will remain. So with the treatment you will also need to keep your tank fallow to ensure any remaining organisms perish, i believe the time period is 6 weeks but i am not certain. I would also look into using prozi pro after the copper just kill any other bacterial infections the fish may have.

A great write-up on treating with Copper

Good luck

Don't use display tank water; it will probably have hints of ich in it.

Also, it's not a six week fallow period. It's 72-76 days.

Using tank water should be perfectly fine since you are going to have to use copper to treat the fish. Not just one fish but ALL fish must be Quarantined. And the dt must remain fallow for 76 days. This is to break the life cycle of ich. But to be sure, do you have any pics? Copper will treat for both ich and velvet but just to give you correct info we would want to Id it.
