Lol I’m sure the floor would agree. I was going to get a whole full on station but decided to wait until I upgrade to do it. For now it’s worked out for me. Never use the 5 gal buckets but since I don’t want to clean the big Costco containers again and don’t need much water I met as well just use the buckets.
Throw a beach towel under them.

Followed a wise man’s advice……you know who you are ;) and took the longer trip! Been in the bucket for around 20 minutes and will be for another 20

And he is in! One Sand Storm later and he seems to have made the adjustments necessary for his new home. I think this is one of the worst photos I’ve ever taken needed to make the saturation crazy purple to make it look ”better”

So far he has made a 3 main holes but now the entire rock is the roof of the cave apparently. Has anyone guessed what the fish is? @Slocke its one of the ones you aren’t a fan of lol.

@i cant think I went to the further store :) …..disappointed though :(

All they had from their “marvelous assortment of wrasse shipment“ were Cirrhilabrus solorensis Cirrhilabrus cyanopleura Halichoeres cosmetus and a bunch of tiny Paracheilinus mccoskeri. So I did not come home with a wrasse today as I wanted. Sorry @Gumbies R Us @Fish Styx for hyping you guys up. I think I’ve had the worst ”luck“a wrasse man could get lol.

Doesn’t mean I came home empty handed though though not a fan of the sand storm caused by him atm lol.

Are you sleeping in a pile of drool? What did you get?
No lol I’m currently adding Mag….why at night? Cuz I didn’t do it earlier. Pics come tomorrow but I got a Diamond WG. Or the sleeper goby or sand eating goby or whatever it’s called. The tank is 9 months old, so not quite the year mark I set myself for these fish, but I have started to see bits of coralline, tons of micro fauna and I am adding bits of food into the sand bed.

Mag is slowly getting where I want it! And as of today I’ve learned I have 2 free gift cards from WWC for coral frags. Calc is where I want it at 430. Getting close to adding coral now. @Slocke you were the one that said you’d go Duncan coral for the first move right?

That sand bed looks rather young and unestablished… it also looks rather shallow. These guys are harder than mandarins generally and need 3-4” deep sandbeds that are Atleast 2-3 years old at the minimum.

Ideally you want a sandbed that looks like this before you think about owning these guys. Their nutrients comes 97% from the sand and 3% generally comes from their food.

I have seen a surge in people wanting these though so I’ll probably do an article or something to explain what these guys need in terms of tank size and nutirents/diet.

Sounds like an article is a great idea!

Just started it, hopefully I can get a few photos of the Valenciennea and sand sifters the LFS have :)
I’ve got the start done, now just to do their dietary needs, and also tank size needed.
@Petcrazyson if you can get a photo of yours could I use it? I don’t have my own specimen of Valenciennea or Amblygobius so hopefully my LFS have in some other Valenciennea and Amblygobius species.

I’d say it is a very hardy LPS. One of my first and it hasn’t ever posed any problems.

Thankyou! Definitely using that top one, that’s a beautifully taken photo :)
