Generally, Genicanthus don’t eat algae, they’re planktivores instead (hence why they’re more reef safe than other genera of Angels). In my experience, mine was never an aggressive Angel, but then again we’ve all seen my luck with fish. It doesn’t matter how hard of finicky they are… they just get along in my tank (So far Atleast, let’s not jinx it yet).I need more useful fish. I don't know enough about the Genicanthus angels to definitively say I want one, especially since several sites say they can be agressive towards fairy and flashers. The possibility of a cool looking lesser agressive potential algae eater appeals to me.
