Just lost power at the house and the storm didnt even start yet. I got vortech backup for up to 6 days, lets hope Im not out of power for any longer. Goodluck to everyone else!

Same here, power down. 600 feet from the shore on ny coastline.

I have two large 300$ ups. im running 1 vortech and intermittently running the return and battery operated pump every 30 minutes for 1 minute.

Ugh

Keeping your family and your critters in my prayers; as well as everyone on the East coast.

thanks to everyone, but how long can the tank last without any lights on?

With zoas, ive done 5 days and just some lost color.

Hey Jared. Best of luck to ya. I went on a mission today. Took 3 hrs and 4 stores, but got a generator.. Rain and winds so far, but work in CT has lost power 2 hrs ago. Coming this way..

Please everyone keep us updated as to the storm and the impact on your reef. Above all be safe!

My temp is staying good so far, Sps tank (Can last 2-3 days without light)

In the past I would siphon water threw filter sock into a bucket and then pour it back aggressively. Seemed to do well especially while vortechs were running.

That's what I would do. The lights can be out for a week. The corals might be a little stressed. I would be more concerned about water quality.

Good luck guys. I live in Florida and the last storm we got this summer killed the power at my place for a day. I went to Walmart picked up a Power inverter for 30/40 bucks pulled one of our car batteries and ran my return pump until the power come back on.

How many battery back up supplies did you but to get enough lasting for six days… I'm just curious cause that sounds like a lot.
