acans and shrooms have always hated me. Zoas finally are tolerant, Xenia fear me , and NPS like my style, But....

Quick update guys for any one here follow. I did a dip with Polyp Labs Reef Primer also I have lowered the flow and I have dialed down my lights again I will be target feeding all acans with reef roids and LPS pellets.

Have had this same issue for years. Never know the cause. Attributed to poor maintenance. I hope some others chime in here with some ideas

It happened to my acans and chalice while back when i set up a 29g biocube with a 5g wc weekly.
Is your ALK reading before or after wc?

I'm thinking those big water changes are stripping your nutrients to a point they're starving. Just my gut instinct on this, probably because I've been guilty of the same thing. Who would've thought macroalgae could be so darn effective?? Good move on the light schedule and ramping up feedings. I'd chill with those water changes for a while. I've got a sumpless 29 fully stocked with lps and softies and I only do a 2 gallon wc once every two months. Carbon bag in the back. Even got a football sized porite in there and he's happy.

I had same issue my lps were dying off I started using aminos and started feeding a little more my nitrates and phosphates kept on coming zero specially after my water change it would take a week for them just to go up a bit but My phosphates kept at zero I was told to increase my phosphates and nitrates
