if replacing a skimmer pump, its important it have a needle wheel impellor. something that will froth up the air with the water. I don't think a regular circulation pump will work in a skimmer.
Yeah that’s what’s making it hard for me to find one. It has to fit where the other one did and have the needle wheel or be able to hold the one that came with this one. It’s like car parts lol. Nothing a compatible. XD

I may have to settle with the loud SCA pump.

It seems that some of the LEDs are going out in the kessil. I’m going to see how hard that will be to fix because I absolutely love this little pendant. It just looks so nice. I suppose until I can save up, I’ll hope to win one of the or4 bars. I figured something was up because the nem started to climb a bit. I might stick the old current marine bar over to help for now. To be honest, considering I’ve had it over a year, and it was used before that, I’m still happy and impressed it’s been so good. It was only a “until you get better” anyhow.

Welp, off to learn the innards of a light.

Current setting, all the way blue then all the way white. This is how the r24 started to go out.

Serial number determined the fixture is about five years old, so no wonder some are going out. Was advised to email CS for “deep cleaning instructions” so sent that this am. They said if it didn’t help, they would give a discount for a replacement so that’s cool. What a great company to even think of offering something like that for a five year old fixture.

No one else would appreciate this lol.

So I’ve decided that I’ll use the gift card for some replacement reagents on the Hannah testers. I’m completely out of the phosphate and low on the alk. That as well as a can of AFR and I’m not sure what else to get. Maybe some more betta food. They’re running low.

This weekend I’ll tear the Kessil apart and see if I can get it cleaned up. They did mention the discount but I don’t know how much of one it’ll be. So I’m hunting some things and listing them to help with the funds.

Yesterday LBaL was brown and this morning it’s very stinky. I tossed three cubes of the gel food in there to help feed the cycle. It’s no raw shrimp but it’s raw everything else and should work out. Pics later of it. I have a localish reefer with some lovely rock. I want to see what he would charge to ship me a piece lol. He’s too far for me to travel and o couldn’t ask him to bring it to me.

Ammonia 0.8 currently. Didn’t check the other numbers. I want this to bottom out.

It’s nice and stinky and brown though lol.

I couldn’t figure out what I wanted on the Amazon so I went with the flipper for this tank. I love the nano on the 35 so figured the larger one would be good here. I already have scratches galore thanks to kids and clumsiness on my part, but this should help prevent more.

I’m ignoring this. It’s not there. The smell and the brown and the tell tale signs…. Nope. Not in my cycling reef.
IMG_1104.jpeg

Instead, look at the 35 :D
IMG_1111.jpeg

I emailed Kessil back. Depending on the cost, I’m just hoping I’m a lucky 30 now. Or that I can sell the 36” bar to fund the replacement. Was not on my radar lol.
IMG_1112.jpeg

Also, the ten gallon is looking nice. I do have some algae. And a ton of babies.
IMG_1114.jpeg

But back to the big one. Tested today and ammonia/nitrite/nitrate is 0/0.05/2 so I’m going to the local reef shop to see if that damsels still there. He’s expensive (32.99) but a cool fish with some girth so hopefully he works out

“Hot lips” no idea what kind of damsel, but I love her lol.

Also I found a bristleworm (I think) in some algae that I stuck in here

That’s what I’m thinking too. And reading up I overpaid by a pretty large margin. But I’m happy with it. I read they like to live among acropora and eat micro algae off of them so that’s a plus.

Reply from kessil:Which unit would you be interested in? If you want the most current 360 model that would be the A360XE, and the discounted price for that would be $337.

Anyone wanna buy a kidney? lol. But no I did email back explaining I just want the we, since I know it’s working with the corals.

Well I got the reply from Kessil and it’s not good. Unfortunately they don’t sell the a360we any longer so there’s no chance for a new replacement.

One step forward two steps back I suppose. I honestly don’t know what to do there’s no way I can come up with even their discounted price. I guess this light will go til it’s completely out. :/

Sleeping on it, I have come to a cross roads and would like some opinions from the masses.

So I know the 360xe is the upgrade of the we. I know that would possibly give me more light than what’s on here now. But the cost is a bit more than I can handle at the moment even with selling off my unused things. (I’ve a total of $70 saved up cause bills suck)

I’m not sure if the “deal” from kessil will be valid by the time I save up that much. I’m honestly thinking of just going with some OR bars. I can get them one at a time. Two should be fine. I can do the reef day and blue plus, getting the reef day first. The OR4 60 is 155. Having two it’ll still be less than the discounted xe. And I can possibly do that. It just takes all my funds from upgrading the 10 and buying the Eden :/

Which to be fair the we is still working, minus an LED node. I’m not sure the time I do have with it. And it was the most generous gift, that I’m extremely thankful for.

If anyone has some other suggestions for something that’ll go over the 35.2, and keep the nem happy at a comparable price,I’m all ears. I just don’t want to feed dinos or diatoms or cyano. lol. It’s finally balanced and I don’t want to throw it off kilter.

Throw at me what y’all have. Flotsam is watching patiently.
