Oh! I found someone local who runs a shop out of his home. That’s pretty exciting for me! Especially since my 24th wedding anniversary is coming up Sunday ;) I am hoping I can grab a few corals. I was looking at these two:

20 is the price of this one.

45 is being asked for this one.

Think they’d do ok in my tank, master reefers?

I wouldn't pay $45 for a common green Hairy Mushroom personally. I think I paid $10 for mine. Those Zoas LA Lakers?

But yes, both are easy beginner corals. Especially if you have a little bit of Nitrates in your tank.

I honestly have no idea what the zoas are, and that’s great to know on the shroom. Would it be better to just go to my local shop and see what they have?

Up to you. Some people don't know what they have and over charge others under charge for the same reason. Some LFS do the same though.

I've got one LFS that sells all Acros for $20 regardless of type so I can some good deals sometimes while they be got another that sells Acros starting at $50 with no labels so...

The other thing I will say, if you're comfortable paying $45 for the mushroom and you like it, buy it. If you're comfortable paying $25 for the Zoa and you like it, buy it. There's plenty of corals that I like that I'm not comfortable paying what they're worth so I don't buy them and there's plenty of corals I've overpaid for because I liked them and they were a good enough price for me.

Yeah I honestly have no idea what I’m doing The seller seems nice though. As for them knowing or not, since the run a shop out of home I’d hope they would? The thing is, as you guys know I don’t have much money for this hobby (shouldn’t be in it probably) so im not comfortable overpaying when I can get it for cheaper. That being said I’ve no idea what my local sho charges for these lol.

Im literally just winging it haha

The zoas are King Midas and $20 is fair for those. I agree $45 for a green hairy mushroom is a little pricey - but they multiply like crazy so you could turn around and sell them to locals :)

Yesterday was quite exciting. First off, a local friend brought Atlas( my macrostoma guy) a girlfriend. She’s quite a bit smaller than he. The are getting along swimmingly :)

Also, this same person is who had ordered the commission of the mahachai painting. He asked what he owed and I had told him $90.00. He gave me $200.00! It’ll probably go in some bills but if Hubbs gives the go ahead I’ll get that kraken reef lid. Fingers crossed I can spend it on the lid ❤️

And as I was going to bed, I noticed the pallifinas dancing. I woke up to a brooding male :) I’m not expecting full term, as he’s smaller than she and it’s his first time but wow, that makes me happy!

On the salt side, the Duncan seems happy. It’s been open and full colored. It’s a lovely thing! The toadstool has yet to open up, and is getting a “glossy” appearance. I’ve read they sometimes shed in new tanks so, I’m hoping that’s all it is. I really want this to thrive.

Pics of Atlas and his hilarious sad face with his new lady friend. I promise he’s happy.
