I have a half moon tank. It is single-handedly the most difficult tank to buy equipment for.

Lighting is my current struggle

That is the brace for the tank.

I have a reef benders photon v2 48”. Not ideal because the front of the tank Is dark

So I saw some AI sol blues for $50 with controller. Snagged em. This is what I’ve got so far.

I ran out of the bolts, so I’ll have to finish tomorrow. Going to put legs on to stabilize.

Thoughts?

@UncommonSense ? you have a challenging tank to figure out stuff with, right?
I do indeed! The so-called hexagon from hell; it’s been a challenge!

Thoughts?
These half-cylinder tanks are absolutely awesome! Every angle you look from is a different viewing perspective!

Your add- on lighting solution is very clever, and should be quite beneficial! If there’s too much light spill from the placement so close to the viewing pane; you can always angle the Sols a bit towards the center of the tank! (Likely with shims between t-slot and lights on viewing pane side fasteners)

Regarding legs, I see the easiest option being adding one to two front legs off the Sol mounting extrusions to the viewing pane top rim, assuming that won’t be in the way of anything? (Possibly one centered leg to the front rim, a triangle doesn’t wobble!)

The goal is it to put two legs that will run front to back. Just ran out of bolts lol. M

The hex tanks are no joke. Been there lol

Came out pretty decent. The lighting definitely helped in the tank immediately.

Nice.
How did you attatch the photon to the 8020? I am looking for a way to attatch the photon to the 8020.
Any pics would help. Thanks
Sure did. I took one of the ends off, removed the factory stub bolts. Added the ones that came with the 2020., slid the rail.

Whole assembly took about an hour. Would be less if I didn’t do it backwards.

If I were doing it again, I thought of a much simpler layout and would swap am the screws out for 10/32
