I thought they were lighter color because they were newer. Also is that normal?Unfortunately, the yellow leaves are dying, they will eventually fall off.
I had it under a large aquaponic led but it took up to much space so I bought clip on plant leds around 50w. I think its been browning for awhile even before the switch. The leaves should be green. Are you trying to grow it under a reef light? Thats what happened to me, the leaves turned yellow then fell off over a year. Two months ago I put a 45 watt plant grow light over the leaves, and it grew 4 new leaves already.
New leaves start yellowish, but quick turn green. Yours, imo, don’t look normal. I have noticed right below my light new leaves don’t quite get as green as leaves lower on the tree. Your tree looks ok, but I would be concerned about what I see. More information might help?I thought they were lighter color because they were newer. Also is that normal?
I've had it for a year or two. It started off with two leaves. It sits inside my HOB overflow on my 125g reef. I switched lights recently to two clip on 40w LED. I mist everyday. I'm not sure if I've been using RO/DI watet or tap. Idk if this help. The picture inside the tank is what the mangrove sits in.New leaves start yellowish, but quick turn green. How do you plant it in soil with a deep tank? Also it could be iron but I don't have a way to test. I use fritz rpm pro mix and rarely do water changed because I have a couple of softies and 6 fish.Typically that kind of set up results in very slow growth. Some people don’t mist others do, not sure if it makes any difference. I mist daily also, but what really makes a difference is planted in soil. I have some like yours and some in soil and the difference is more than 10x the growth. Some have suggested that yellow outside of typical yellowing is an iron deficiency?
Yes it could be hard, my tanks are small and not so deep. It’s not an easy thing to figure out a problem with mangroves. I failed many times before I focused on the mangrove first. Instead of adding something, I would do a WC because imo your mangrove is missing something maybe even potassium since you’re not doing WC.How do you plant it in soil with a deep tank? I did a 30g water change like 3 weeks ago and I havent seen any improvmentYes it could be hard, my tanks are small and not so deep. It’s not an easy thing to figure out a problem with mangroves. it looks ok, but not great. Maybe with your set up that is the best you can hope for? For an example, my mangroves are about nine months that started from Propagules and one 2 years.I probably can fill a plastic pot with sand and stack it ontop of some rocks. I wanted to add the mangrove somewhere but it wasnt tall enough. But its grew 4in since I got it.it looks ok, but not great. Maybe with your set up that is the best you can hope for? Yes, maybe a pot with multiple holes and gaps to allow roots to grow out and use something like cheese cloth to hold sand. I would also add a root tab or mix in some organic potting soil.I probably can fill a plastic pot with sand and stack it ontop of some rocks. I have an extra rock. I can make a hole in and add some sand and reef mud. I might try to stack it high enough inside the tank. Could be a nice natural looking potYes, maybe a pot with multiple holes and gaps to allow roots to grow out and use something like cheese cloth to hold sand. That could work very well. I believe you also need the give the roots room to grow and not become root bound in the pot/rock. Try to make it possible that roots can grow downward through the rock…GL, keep updating on progress.I have an extra rock. I can make a hole in and add some sand and reef mud. I made this temp setup until it gets tall enough in a couple years. I also added a hole so stuff could go in and outThat could work very well. Looks great! I think you will have much better results. Might take a while, but once it starts, will likely grow much faster than before…I made this temp setup until it gets tall enough in a couple years. I also added a hole so stuff could go in and out
