the bad news, the little one didn't make it. on the end the fellow was breathing so heavily and didn't move much anymore.....

the conclusion out of that: I wasn't prepared for this situation even with some good meds on hand and the most important, at least for me I guess, I didn't act fast and treated prophylactic.

the good news, the big one is eating well and looks ok. I changed the treatment to ich shield powder and feed with medicated food.

actions of my conclusion:
I dissolved a little bit of general cure into water, soaked some pellets, left them inside the fridge overnight and coated them with fish oil the following day. the big one seems to like that food and I think that is a good approach, well at least for me.

another idea of mine was to get those gel type foods (new life spectrum nutrigel), mix the dry powder with the meds and then make the gel food. my initial thoughts were to make enough gel food and then keep it in the fridge/freezer for perhaps 5 days or so.

I did drop a email to seachem asking whether my idea with the gel food would be suitable for kanaplex/metroplex, freezing or refrigerating it and there answer was:

Thank you for your email. That should work just fine actually. The medication isn't damaged by refrigerating or freezing, so your only concern is whether the gel will break down under these circumstances.

Thank you,

Seachem Support

Humlbefish, I should have remembered the vitamin B thingy as we have a cat with a kidney stone and she gets one tablet on daily basis as appetite stimulant. so vit B will be part of my gel type medicated food although as far as I remember vit B breaks down very fast.

I found one guy selling metroplex and kanaplex online just that the expiry date isn't clear.

thanks for all the support and input (I'll will report back once I tried the gel medicated food)

cheers

Soren
