Came home to 400 gallons of fog...massive trocus snail spawn. I love these snails - they're fast - right themselves and reproduce readily...but I've never seen anything like this.

In the picture with the yellow tang - if you zoom in just behind the fishes tail - you can see the eggs in the water - there must have been literally millions of them.

I've had them spawn before - but never like this.
In a month I'll be picking babies out of the skimmer and sump - awsome snails,

Congrats!
Mine spawn all the time.
The part I do not like is the baby shells get stuck in my skimmer wheel!

This would happen in my 120. Hope they pick it up in the 220. The babies can find themselves in peculiar places

Ah man only if you lived in newyork, id pay you to to get these snails out of my system ,[HASHTAG]#robert[/HASHTAG] thatss sick , mine spawn about 3 times a week all at once, never gotten that cloudyyy, i have hermit crabs blasting babys into my gyre current almost everynites like a zoo. But goodluck if the babys make it , i also wondered and never asked but can something like this foul your water and cause an ammonia spike?

Had my snails do the same thing. Water normally clear in an hour or 2 after they finish. I think the skimmer does a good job of clearing it out. Only babies I've seen are from the Stomatella snails. Rest is just spawn for the corals and filter feeders. Cool thing to see for sure!
