Well I did something dumb, which seems to be a reoccurring theme on this form. I turned up the lights, and didn't dose enough nutrients and the corals have started to brown out, the good new is the Borg have come to help with the tank.

I dosed more phosphates and added some Red Sea ab+ thus the need for the borg fridge.

I'm also having trouble maintaining alk, I'm going to setup the calcium reactor, after my new Kalk reactor gets here.

I was thinking that perhaps it is the marine pure brick sucking up all the nutrients. What's everyone's opinion on taking it out?

I don't know whether it can absorb phosphate or not. But if it can, at some point it would reach saturation point and then no longer be a problem. Nitrate likewise, but in the scheme of things it's really a home for nitrate production anyway.

I came home today and my tank was at .08 without me having to dos anything. I did add some more AB+. There is still a large amount of diatoms in the tank, but I think they will go with time.

I'm wondering if the Silicon is the reason I'm having so many diatoms, I'm thinking about running some Purit.

Eventually when the diatoms consume all the silica. They will die back and your filtration will remove them along with the silica they bind up. But I know you have said you're not patient, so I guess you'll go with the chemical solution.

Go slow with Iodine, overdosing can be harmful to your tank. Too low is better than too high for that.

Well look what came in the mail today,

I even managed to get it setup up, please pardon the mess.

As you can see, I'm very particular about the wires being as neat as possible, and very well organized.

The GEO is already starting to make a difference with PH. I just need to make sure that I have it dialed in for the ALK and Cal.

This is the programing I used for the dosing,
Fallback OFF
Set OFF
OSC 059:31/000:29/000:00 Then ON
If Time 08:00 to 20:00 Then OFF
If Output Kelistir = ON Then OFF
Min Time 016:00 Then OFF

And this is the programing I used for the pump stir.
Fallback OFF
OSC 000:00/005:00/240:00 Then ON

I have no idea if it is right, I'm not very good at programing.

I can't help you with programming. I'm a dinosaur when it comes to this stuff. I'd post it on the Apex programming forum and see what others think.

Actually its maintaining my alk very nicely, I may have to bring it down just a bit or get more corals to put in the tank.

Well, this is not keeping up with my alk, and my ph has started to fall again. This is in spite of the PH in the reactor sitting at 12. So right now I'm thinking about increasing the dose time to 35 minutes.

I got in the new corals today. Granted they are not in their final spots but, I didn't have much time on lunch break to get them in the tank. Sorry they are terrible iPhone pictures.
