After 15 years of being out of the hobby, I have finally decided to get back in due to advances in technology. I purchased a Reefer 350 on Black Friday and have been setting it up over the last few weeks. Setup pictures and equipment list are below:

  • Red Sea Reefer 350 Deluxe
  • Neptune APex 2016
  • Neptune ATO - Won at LFS on Black Friday
  • Skimmer - TBD-Curios about upcoming Red Sea skimmer reviews, but also open to other suggestions
  • Return Pump - Neptune Core 20
  • Wave Pumps - TBD - Leaning towards Apex Wavs despite poor reviews. Also considering MP40s
  • Eheim 300W heater
  • 50 lbs Real Reef Rock
I have completed the cycle and added the cleanup crew. I have two Picasso Clowns and a Blue Tang in quarantine. I have stolen a lot of ideas from forum members including @Andre Arnold, and @Hulley. I am open to suggestions on aquascape, sump/refugium configuration, wiring, equipment and stocking order.

I would like to see a display refugium with different macro fauna. Plus it forces you to keep the sump clean, lol. Tank looks great so far. Following

Rock scaping looks great! I actually removed my refugium over the last day or two mainly because it made my sump look like crap and the Chaeto would eventually get hung up in the return pump. If I didn't have a roller filter, I would re purpose the stock ATO tank into a refugium and place it as far to the right as possible, use a small pump and gravity drain it back into the main sump, still leaving room for a skimmer.

BTW, the dry side looks great, I really need to finish mine up.

Looks great, can't wait to see it progress!
