Does anyone happen to have one of these systems? I've looked around online and on the forums and see very little information on them, and no firsthand accounts. I just acquired the LS-150 version and feel like I might be the only person in North America that actually has one of these. :face-with-tears-of-joy:

So, if anyone else has one, chime in!

I really AM the only one.

weird lol I was just looking into it and this is the only post I find on them. How do you like it?
Well…it’s still sitting empty. The main controller is on the fritz and unusable and the sump I have is not the final sump for these tanks so the ATO container doesn’t fit on top like it should.

I’m awaiting pricing from Maxspect to replace these items, or at least the controller.

Some of my issues are because I picked this up “used” as in it’s the actual system from the BRS video above and a bit of a prototype. Or at the very least it was not really ready to be out in the wild, according to Maxspect themselves.

At any rate, the tank is beautiful and well constructed. I’m hopeful to be close to a resolution with Maxspect by the end of this month to get it up and running.

Updates?

Only a year later....better late than never?

I was able to get a replacement main controller from Maxspect at no cost to me, so that was pretty awesome of Maxspect. The tank has been up and running for several months now. They wouldn't replace the sump for free though, and with shipping from China it was going to cost me something like $1000. So, I just used the sump I had. The only feature I can't use of the designed system is the ATO reservoir that should sit on top. Not a huge deal honestly.

I really like the entire system. It's nice to have the main components all controlled in one place and working together. The system overall is super quiet as well which is a bonus. Despite some headaches up front to get it up and going, I'm really happy with it and as mentioned previously, the tank itself is really well made and great looking.

Looking at this tank myself curious of the app and if you are finding the connection issues that I see reviews on the app for. Lots of folks saying they lose connection with the gyre and skimmer etc which deems the controllable features unusable. Thoughts on your experience? It appears to be a super nicely made set up. I was impressed at the stand quality on the one my LFS carries

I have not had connection issues with the app, nor issues with it controlling the tank equipment. I haven't looked extensively, but haven't seen reports of people having connection issues with the app.

Maxspect lights on the other hand are another story. But that's more of an issue getting them on your WiFi network rather than communicating with the app.

I would agree it's a very well made tank and stand. The glass is thick and clear, it has reinforced seams. The stand is substantial. I'm happy with mine.

Did you get the sk400 skimmer with yours? Do you like it, is it easy to adjust etc? Thanks!

I have the SK-800 with mine as it's the LS-150 version.

I have zero complaints on the skimmer. It's very quiet for it's size and the knob on the skimmer body to adjust water intake is easy to use and precise so you can make small adjustments. I'm running mine at 60% power and it's plenty.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback, I posted a thread to see if anyone others have this line of tank. Seems it is hard to find any reviews on them. I do appreciate your time to respond!

I agree, seems like there aren't many US based reefers that have these systems. So, I try to chime in when I can!

Curious on the control board if you are able to hook up another brand item like a Nero etc. I imagine most of those powerhead connections are the same or similar but on the other hand not likley. Mine is being set up and will transfer my livestock on the 29th. Super nervous as I don’t want to lose anything. Bought new live sand and a couple bottles of Fritz turbo start. I’ll likely add a couple cups of my sand but will leave the rest as new

I think even if you could find a powerhead that fit the plugs you couldn't control it. The software of the main controller only works with Maxspect equipment.

Thanks for the heads up. How are you liking the turbine duo return pump and gyre. Can’t wait to get mine set up on the 29th

I've been using the 9k version and haven't had any issues. The 12k that came with the tank has a bad bushing already, so not sure what's up with that. The pump is hardly used.

Gyres are working perfectly. They move plenty of water as far as I'm concerned. I would probably have to add some additional powerheads eventually as the tank grows in.

Oh dang. The 9k comes with mine I think. Reviews on them aren’t great saying they don’t push the water advertised , most are old reviews so hoping they are better now. Sorry for so many questions, but I’m excited to get mine and have it set up. Might be good for me to have a standby of a different brand just in case. Mine comes with one gyre the 4K I think. I have a Nero 3 I might use in the other side until I determine how these run and if I need another. The LS-90 is only 36 inches long, 48 gallons so hoping that will work for a bit.

I think it pushes plenty of water personally. In fact, I have the 9k running only on level 5 of 10.

Just for reference I reached out to BRS about the bushing set on the 12k and they are shipping out a replacement. So, customer service is solid if needed.
